It looks like I will be blessed with amazing weather during my conference from Tuesday to Friday of next week (6/24-27). They’re forecasting sun, with a high around 82 and a low around 62 each day. But here’s the thing… I live in an incredibly humid climate, and I’m honestly not sure how to pack. I’m guessing that 70° in coastal Georgia at 90% humidity, and 70° in Anaheim at 30% humidity feel different.
I’ll be in conference rooms most of the day, but we do have a Disney evening planned and I’m also going to a baseball game. So how do I dress in those evening hours for those temperatures? A light jacket over a short sleeve shirt, or will I want something a bit warmer?
You're correct that 70–80°F in Anaheim feels very different from the same temperatures in a humid climate like coastal Georgia. The key difference is the low humidity in Southern California, typically around 30–40% this time of year. This means the air feels much drier, and your body cools more efficiently through sweating, so temperatures can feel more comfortable and less “sticky” than what you’re used to. A 70°F evening in Anaheim can feel slightly chilly, especially with a light breeze.
During the daytime at your conference, 82°F is pleasantly warm, and indoor air conditioning may make it feel cooler, so packing short sleeves and perhaps a light sweater or blazer for indoors is ideal.
For evenings outside, such as your Disney outing or the baseball game:
For your Disney evening, casual layers are perfect—light jacket over a t-shirt, maybe a scarf if you feel chilly, plus comfortable shoes. For the baseball game, you could do the same, and maybe bring a hoodie if you want extra warmth once the sun sets.
Overall, Anaheim’s dry climate makes these temperatures feel very pleasant, much more tolerable than humid regions. Dressing in light layers will keep you comfortable both indoors and outdoors.
