2 events - where to stay?

Headed to vegas 1st weekend in June to see Coldplay and Kenny Chesney, trying to decide on best location for lodging given the different proximity of the concert venues. Would like to try to stay around 1k budget for the room for 3 nights. We aren’t gamblers but given it will be hot, would like somewhere with a decent pool w/shade. Should I focus on staying close enough to walk to one of the two venues and then deal with Uber for the other? Or somewhere in between the two venues? Thanks!

For your upcoming trip to Las Vegas in June, it sounds like you'll be attending two concerts—Coldplay and Kenny Chesney—and you're aiming to balance proximity to the venues with comfort and a good pool experience. Given the budget and the hot weather, here are some thoughts to help you decide on the best lodging options:

Proximity to Venues:

  • Coldplay at Allegiant Stadium: Allegiant Stadium is located off the Strip, southwest of the main hotel district. It's a bit of a distance from the central Strip area, so walking to this venue might be less convenient than for other venues on the Strip.
  • Kenny Chesney at Resorts World or T-Mobile Arena: Resorts World (if that's where he's performing) and T-Mobile Arena are both located on the northern end of the Strip. These are closer to the core of the Strip and generally have more walkable access to nearby hotels.

Best Strategy for Staying Within Budget:

  • Stay Somewhere Centrally Located: Given that you'll need to take Uber for at least one of the concerts, a good strategy is to stay somewhere central between the two venues, such as around the middle of the Strip. This gives you a relatively equal distance to both venues and allows you to easily take an Uber to either venue. Popular hotels in this area with good pools include:
    • The Venetian – Central location with a great pool area and non-gaming options.
    • Caesars Palace – Another central option with a large pool area and plenty of non-gaming entertainment.
    • Paris Las Vegas – Offers a central location with a decent pool and shade options.
  • Close to One Venue, Use Uber for the Other: If you have a preference for staying closer to one of the venues, you can also stay near one and take an Uber to the other concert. For example:
    • For Allegiant Stadium (Coldplay), consider staying near the south end of the Strip, such as:
      • The MGM Grand (offers a large pool area, though it's a bit further from T-Mobile Arena)
      • Luxor or Mandalay Bay (both have great pools and are closer to Allegiant Stadium)
    • For T-Mobile Arena (Kenny Chesney), stay closer to the northern Strip:
      • Cosmopolitan or Bellagio (both have amazing pools with plenty of shade)
      • Aria (also a great option with a pool and a central location to T-Mobile Arena)

    Pool Considerations in the Heat:

    • Given the heat in June, you'll want to make sure the hotel has a good pool with some shaded areas, especially during peak sun hours. Some hotels like The Venetian and Mandalay Bay have dedicated shaded areas, and many of the top resorts on the Strip offer large pools with lounge chairs under umbrellas or cabanas.
    • The Venetian, for example, has a large outdoor pool area with shaded spots and private cabanas you can rent. Similarly, Caesars Palace and the Cosmopolitan offer shaded pool areas to help you stay cool while still enjoying the resort amenities.

    Final Thoughts:

If you're trying to balance both concert proximity and a nice pool experience, staying somewhere central like The Venetian, Caesars Palace, or Cosmopolitan would be ideal. These hotels will give you good access to both the concerts and pools with shaded areas. If you have a bit more flexibility and want to stay closer to one of the venues, opt for hotels near Allegiant Stadium (MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay) or T-Mobile Arena (Cosmopolitan or Bellagio).
