Visiting vegas in June as only there for four days want to plan our trips .grand canyon trip is a must so does anyone have any advice on which trips/company to use .(will not have a car whilst in vegas )so will need picking up from hotel .
Visiting the Grand Canyon is a must-do trip if you’re in Las Vegas, and there are several great options for booking a tour, especially since you won't have a car. Since the Grand Canyon is a bit far from Las Vegas (about 4-5 hours by car), the best option for you will be a guided day trip that includes hotel pickup and drop-off. Here are a few tips and recommendations:
Types of Grand Canyon Tours:
- Bus Tours: Many tour companies offer full-day bus trips to the Grand Canyon. These tours typically pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and return you to Las Vegas in the evening. They often include stops at the South Rim, one of the most scenic areas of the Grand Canyon, and might include lunch or other stops along the way. This is one of the more affordable options, but keep in mind that it’s a long day (around 12-14 hours). Some popular companies offering these tours include:
- Gray Line Las Vegas
- Grand Canyon Tour Company
- Pink Jeep Tours
- Helicopter Tours: If you want a more unique and thrilling experience, consider taking a helicopter tour. These typically include a shorter flight over the Grand Canyon, which is perfect if you're short on time or just want a breathtaking aerial view. There are also combination tours that offer a scenic flight and a visit to the Canyon's rim. Keep in mind that helicopter tours can be pricey, but they provide a truly unforgettable perspective. Companies like:
- Papillon Helicopters
- Maverick Helicopters
- Small Group or Luxury Tours: If you prefer a more intimate experience, smaller group tours or luxury tours might be a good option. These usually have fewer passengers and can provide more flexibility with the itinerary. They often offer personal guides, and some even include premium perks like a private vehicle, lunch with a view, and stops at more remote locations. Look into:
- Vegas Tours
- Luxury Grand Canyon Tours
Considerations:
- Distance: Be mindful of the time it takes to get to the Grand Canyon. A day trip can be very long (up to 14 hours), especially if you're traveling by bus, but you’ll see some beautiful landscapes along the way. If you're looking for a quicker experience, consider a helicopter tour, which will let you experience the Grand Canyon in a much shorter time.
- Temperature: June in Las Vegas can get quite hot, so it’s essential to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and dress appropriately for the heat. The Grand Canyon, especially the South Rim, can be cooler than Vegas, but temperatures can still be high.
- Book in Advance: The Grand Canyon is a popular destination, especially in June, so it's a good idea to book your tour well in advance to ensure availability. You can usually book online through the tour company’s website, or ask your hotel concierge for recommendations.
Recommendation:
If you want a classic Grand Canyon experience with a view of the South Rim, I recommend a bus tour with a reputable company like Gray Line or the Grand Canyon Tour Company. If you're looking for something more exciting and memorable, go for a helicopter tour with companies like Papillon or Maverick. Either way, you'll get to experience one of the natural wonders of the world in a way that works for your schedule and preferences!
