Arcadian Hotel, Brookline

Could anybody advise if the Arcadian has closed down? Sonder are no longer running the hotel and aren't sure if it's still open. The phone number for the hotel is also disconnected. I have an existing booking in April, so I am a little concerned.

If anybody has any local knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated!

It seems you’re right to be concerned, as there have been reports that the Arcadian Hotel in Brookline may have closed down. Sonder, the company that was managing the property, has indeed ceased operations at this location, and the phone number you mentioned being disconnected could indicate that the hotel is no longer in service under its previous management.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to confirm if the hotel has permanently closed or if it is temporarily unavailable. Here are a few options you might consider:

  • Contact Sonder: Since Sonder was managing the property, I recommend contacting them directly via their website or customer support channels to ask about your specific reservation. They should be able to either confirm whether the hotel is still open or help you make alternate arrangements.
  • Check Local Listings: You might also want to check local Boston or Brookline hotel listings to see if any recent changes have been made to the status of the Arcadian Hotel. Local tourism websites, travel forums, or review platforms like TripAdvisor could have up-to-date information.
  • Booking Confirmation: If you booked through a third-party site (like Booking.com, Expedia, etc.), reach out to their support team as well. They might be able to contact the hotel directly or offer alternatives if the hotel is indeed closed.
  • Nearby Hotels in Brookline: If it turns out that the Arcadian Hotel is closed, consider looking into other hotels in the Brookline area for your April stay. Some nearby options include:
  • The Coolidge Corner Hotel: A boutique hotel with a great location in Brookline, close to restaurants and shops.
  • The Inn at Longwood Medical: Located near the Longwood Medical Area, this could be a great alternative if you're looking for a more business-focused hotel.
  • The Eliot Hotel: A more upscale option located in the heart of Brookline, just a short distance from the Arcadian.

In any case, I would recommend confirming with Sonder and checking the booking site soon to ensure that you have a solid backup plan for your stay. I hope everything gets sorted out for you soon!
