A couple of Sphere questions

Hi We'll be there in a couple of weeks to see the Eagles (again - yes, it's THAT good!).

Staying at MGM Signature and wondering about using the Monorail. Is this a good option on concert nights, or is it crowded and hard to find an empty car? We've been to Vegas a lot, but only used the monorail a time or two (years ago), so any helpful suggestions are welcome.

Also, are there any bars (rooftop?) that have a nice view of the Sphere and a cool place to chill for a bit?

It's great to hear you're returning to Las Vegas to see the Eagles! The Sphere is definitely going to be an amazing experience. Here are some helpful tips and answers to your questions:

1. Monorail on Concert Nights: The Las Vegas Monorail is a convenient option, but it can get quite crowded on concert nights, especially for large events like the one you’ll be attending at the Sphere. While the Monorail does serve several major hotels along the Strip, it’s important to know that during peak times (like before and after concerts), it can be packed, and finding an empty car may be difficult. The wait times can also be longer, depending on the crowd.

If you’re staying at MGM Signature, the Monorail station is not directly connected to the MGM, but you can easily walk to the nearest station (at the Mirage or Bally’s, depending on where you’re starting). If you don’t mind a little extra walking and are comfortable with the crowd, the Monorail can still be a good choice for avoiding the traffic around the Strip. However, if you’re looking for a more comfortable, less crowded experience, you might want to consider a ride-share or taxi service, as it could be faster and more direct, especially if you're heading to the Sphere or another popular venue.

2. Bars with a View of the Sphere: There are a few great rooftop bars in Las Vegas where you can relax and enjoy a nice view of the Sphere and the city skyline. Here are a few to consider for a cool spot to chill:

  • Skyfall Lounge at Delano: Located on the 64th floor, Skyfall Lounge offers an incredible panoramic view of the Strip and the Sphere. It’s an upscale, relaxed spot with great cocktails and a sophisticated atmosphere—perfect for enjoying the sights and unwinding before or after your event.
  • Elevation at The STRAT: If you're looking for something with a bit of adventure, Elevation is the rooftop bar at The STRAT Hotel. It’s a higher altitude, offering stunning views of Las Vegas and the Sphere from a distance. The view of the city is hard to beat, and it’s a cool place to hang out, though it can be a bit breezy up there at times.
  • VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub at Rio: Another great option for views and ambiance is VooDoo at the Rio. Though a bit farther from the Sphere, it offers sweeping views of the Strip, including the futuristic look of the Sphere. It's an exciting and lively spot with a fun atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the energy of Las Vegas at night.
  • Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan: While not a rooftop, the Chandelier Bar offers a visually stunning setting and views of the Strip. It's a multi-level bar inside a massive chandelier, providing a cool and unique ambiance. It's a great choice for a fancy, fun time before or after your concert.

These bars not only offer great views but also a relaxed vibe to unwind and enjoy the Las Vegas nightlife. Depending on your preference for the vibe—whether it's a sophisticated lounge, an adventurous high-altitude view, or a lively nightclub—you have plenty of options to choose from.

Overall, the Monorail can be a convenient option, but it may get crowded during events. If you'd prefer a more relaxed experience, taxis or ride-share apps might be a better option. As for the Sphere, there are some fantastic spots to enjoy a drink with a view, so you’re sure to have a great time wherever you decide to go!
