Where to chill

Got an early flight coming in at 8am, me, husband and 26 yr old son. Spending 1st night in Denver, than heading to Colorado springs with older son and granddaughters for quick last minute trip to grey wolf lodge. Staying at the source hotel in Denver, where can we go till check in just to chill?

Arriving early in Denver gives you a chance to ease into your trip and enjoy the city before checking in at The Source Hotel. Since you’ll likely have a few hours to kill, focusing on nearby spots for coffee, breakfast, or a casual stroll is ideal.

The Source Hotel is located in the RiNo (River North) district, which is a vibrant area full of art, breweries, and interesting shops. Here are some ideas for where to relax and chill until your hotel room is ready:

  • Grab breakfast or coffee: Start your morning at a local café. Some favorites in RiNo include Crema Coffee House for artisanal coffee or The Delectable Egg for a hearty breakfast.
  • Walk around the RiNo Art District: Explore the street art, murals, and galleries. The area is full of vibrant murals and sculptures, making for a leisurely and visually engaging stroll.
  • Visit a brewery or taproom: RiNo is famous for its craft breweries. Early risers might enjoy a mid-morning beer tasting at Great Divide Brewing or Epic Brewing if they’re open early.
  • Check out the Denver Central Market: Located very close to the hotel, this market has gourmet food, coffee, and pastries. You can relax, grab a snack, and enjoy the bustling indoor atmosphere.

If you prefer a more park-like setting to chill outdoors:

  • Confluence Park: A short drive or walk from RiNo, this park at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River has paths, grassy areas, and nice river views for a relaxing morning.
  • Union Station area: About 10–15 minutes away, the historic train station has seating areas, coffee shops, and an open vibe where you can sit, grab a drink, and watch the city wake up.

Since your hotel check-in is later in the day, these options let you stay nearby, enjoy the morning, and keep things relaxed before heading to Colorado Springs.
