Fishing charter and sunset sail
Hello. We are staying at Naples Charter Club Resort first week of September. Interested in a half or full day fishing charter. Any suggestions? I’m thinking that we are so close to the harbor we can just walk and find someone
Also, any recommendations for a sunset cruise? Thank you!!!!! :)
Naples is a great location for both fishing charters and sunset sails, and staying at the Naples Charter Club Resort gives you convenient access to Naples Harbor, where many operators run daily excursions.
Fishing charters:
- Half-day or full-day charters: Naples offers a variety of charter options, ranging from inshore trips targeting snook, redfish, and trout to offshore excursions for sailfish, grouper, and snapper.
- Booking: While walking down to the harbor can work, it’s often better to call ahead or book online to ensure availability, especially in September, which can be popular with anglers.
- Recommended providers: Some reputable operators include Naples Bay Charters, Get Hooked Naples, and Big Game Naples Charters. They offer experienced captains, all necessary gear, and flexibility for families or seasoned anglers.
Sunset cruises:
- Types of cruises: Options include private sailboats, catamarans, or larger group vessels. Cruises typically last 1.5–2 hours and often include drinks and snacks.
- Popular operators: Naples Princess, Starfish Cruises, and Pure Florida Naples offer scenic sunset sails with knowledgeable crews. Some specialize in photography-friendly routes for the best sunset views.
- Timing: Plan to board at least 15–30 minutes before sunset to ensure a good spot and to enjoy pre-sunset views along the coast.
Additional tips:
- Check for seasonal rates and availability in September, as weather and water conditions can vary.
- If you’re new to fishing, consider a guided inshore trip for a higher likelihood of success and to enjoy a more relaxed experience.
- Bring sunscreen, hats, and water for both fishing and sunset trips, as Florida sun can be intense even in late summer.
In summary, Naples Harbor is full of options for both fishing charters and sunset cruises. Calling ahead or booking online is recommended, but if you prefer spontaneity, walking the harbor can also yield opportunities with available captains. Both experiences are highly enjoyable and make the most of your stay in Naples.
