Earthsong Lodge vs. Denali Tri-Valley Cabins?

Any insight which of these cabins we should choose for a family of 3? 2bdroom at Earthsong or Deluxe Cabin with 2 queen beds at Tri-Valley, similar price.

Earthsong seems to have more expansive nature views but about 10 min farther from the park entrance... Tri-Valley is closer but cabins seem to be right next to each other and no views? Both have great reviews but Tri-Valley is 3.5-star vs Earthsong's 2.5-star amenity rating... does anyone know if there are hiking opportunities at either of these properties themselves? We plan on going to Denali NP both full days but sometimes it's nice to have an option for an evening stroll.

Any TA insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Choosing between Earthsong Lodge and Denali Tri-Valley Cabins depends on what your family values more: views and privacy or proximity and convenience.

Earthsong Lodge: Located about 10 minutes farther from the Denali park entrance, Earthsong offers more expansive natural views and a sense of seclusion. Guests often mention that the property feels quiet and connected to nature, which can be perfect for evening strolls or just relaxing outdoors. The lodge has some walking trails and open space around the cabins, so short hikes or nature walks are possible without driving to the park. However, the lodge’s amenity rating is lower (2.5 stars), so cabins may be more basic and fewer on-site services are available.

Denali Tri-Valley Cabins: Closer to the park entrance, these cabins provide convenience for early park entry and tours. The deluxe cabins with 2 queen beds are comfortable, but the cabins are situated close together with minimal views, which can feel less private. The property is rated higher on amenities (3.5 stars), meaning better in-cabin features, but you may have less opportunity to enjoy evening nature walks on the property itself compared to Earthsong.

Other considerations:

  • Both properties are highly rated overall, and both offer a good base for full-day trips into Denali National Park.
  • If your family enjoys evening walks or taking in sunrise/sunset views, Earthsong may provide a more scenic and peaceful experience.
  • If you prefer convenience and amenities, especially if you plan to be back at the cabin quickly after long park days, Tri-Valley might be more comfortable.
  • Proximity to shops, restaurants, and park shuttle pickup points can also influence the decision; Tri-Valley has a slight edge in convenience.

In summary, if your priority is natural surroundings, privacy, and the ability to enjoy short walks around the property, Earthsong Lodge is the better choice. If convenience, higher-rated amenities, and easy access to the park are more important, Denali Tri-Valley Cabins would suit your family better.
