The next themed casino

Not sure the last time a truly themed casino was introduced, but if they were to introduce a new casino on the Strip, and the requirements were that it must have a theme (ie Luxor, Caesars, NYNY) what would you like that theme to be? The only thing that comes to my mind is Poseidon-themed, perhaps with a massive aquarium in the lobby, obviously no shortage of Greek ocean statues, maybe a giant Kraken engulfing the building itself. Maybe the old school bars that had windows into a pool of pearl divers. My creativity is clearly limited.

Any ideas?

A new themed casino on the Las Vegas Strip would definitely spark excitement, and the possibilities are endless! Your Poseidon-themed idea sounds epic, and I can imagine a grand aquarium with all the mythological details you mentioned. If we were to brainstorm some fresh ideas, here's what comes to mind:

  • Cyberpunk / Futuristic Theme – Think neon lights, sleek architecture, and an ultra-modern aesthetic that combines technology with luxury. The casino floor could be a mix of digital gaming experiences, augmented reality slots, and robotic bartenders. Imagine a massive holographic skyline or a cityscape in the lobby that changes based on the time of day or the season. The whole vibe would be high-tech, with chrome, glass, and LED screens everywhere.
  • Jurassic Park / Prehistoric Theme – Picture walking into a casino surrounded by massive animatronic dinosaurs, with giant tree-like columns and lush foliage filling the space. The central atrium could have a "dinosaur egg" lounge area, and a thrilling velociraptor-inspired rollercoaster could wind through the casino. Of course, a few hidden "excavation sites" could be scattered around, where visitors can uncover fossil replicas or get interactive with virtual reality expeditions.
  • Steampunk Theme – A Victorian-inspired, industrial revolution-style casino with brass, copper, and gears. The casino floor could feature clockwork machines, and the bar areas could resemble old-school airships with steam-powered mechanisms. The theme could even extend to the nightlife, with steam-powered dance floors and Victorian-inspired cocktail lounges. Picture a massive mechanical dragon as a centerpiece, its wings unfurling to reveal VIP areas.
  • Time Travel / History Theme – Imagine a casino where each section represents a different time period—ancient Rome, the roaring 20s, the futuristic world of 2100, etc. Each zone would have distinct decor and entertainment. You could gamble in the Roman Colosseum, take a jazz break in a 1920s speakeasy, and then step into a sci-fi future for a high-tech gaming experience. Theming could be immersive, with costumed employees and themed food and drinks representing each era.
  • Atlantis Theme – Building on the Poseidon idea, Atlantis could be a full-on undersea-themed casino with glowing coral reefs, sunken ships, and ancient ruins. The centerpiece could be a vast underwater "ocean" area with real or artificial marine life swimming through giant tanks. Guests could explore different areas, from the mysterious "Atlantean temple" to the deep-sea treasure rooms. The dining areas could feature seafood delicacies in a submerged, glowing setting, and the sound of water would flow throughout the building.

These themes could be a perfect fit for the ever-evolving landscape of Las Vegas, where the emphasis is on immersive experiences that go beyond just gambling. Whether it’s stepping into the distant past, the far future, or a world beneath the sea, the goal is to create a full sensory experience that transports visitors into a completely new world. Your Poseidon/Greek mythology concept is already a great start, and any of these themes would surely make for a showstopping casino experience!
