The Orleans

I am staying at the Orleans for the first time in April. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about the resort/restaurants etc. I wanted to try something a little different from the strip and it looked like a nice mid priced property.

The Orleans is a solid mid-priced resort offering a more laid-back experience compared to the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip. Located just off the Strip, it provides a great alternative for those looking to enjoy Las Vegas without the crowds and high prices. Here's some feedback to consider about the resort, its restaurants, and amenities:

The resort itself is large, with a good range of amenities including a large casino, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and a spa. It's perfect if you're looking for a more relaxed environment with plenty of entertainment options, but without the constant crowds typical of the Strip.

  • Restaurants: The Orleans offers several dining options that cater to different tastes and budgets. A few favorites include:
    • The Bayou – A casual spot serving Louisiana-style dishes like gumbo, jambalaya, and po’boys. It's a great place for comfort food with a bit of Southern flair.
    • Big Al’s Oyster Bar – If you're into seafood, this is a local favorite for fresh oysters and seafood dishes.
    • Don Miguel’s – A Mexican restaurant offering a variety of dishes like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, perfect for a more casual dining experience.
  • Casino: The casino at The Orleans is quite large and offers a range of table games, slot machines, and poker. It's less crowded than those on the Strip, making it a more relaxed experience, but still offers plenty of excitement for those who enjoy gaming.
  • Entertainment: The resort regularly hosts live entertainment, including concerts and comedy shows. The venue isn’t as large as those on the Strip, but you’ll still find quality performances in a more intimate setting.

In terms of location, while it's not on the Strip, it's still close enough to enjoy its attractions—only a short drive or ride-share away. This can be a plus if you prefer being removed from the main Strip chaos, yet still want easy access when you’re ready for it.

Overall, The Orleans offers a nice balance of comfort, entertainment, and value. It’s perfect if you're looking to experience Las Vegas in a more relaxed, budget-friendly setting without missing out on all the fun that the city has to offer.
