Closest metro from Shekou port.
Hi,
I’m getting different results when I google so thought it best I just ask on here. Is line 12 (taiziwan) or line 2 (shekou port) nearest/linked to the port? Or better still is there a designated area to get a Didi which would probably be best as I’m not overly keen on dragging my suitcase on and off the metro.
Many thanks in advance
Shekou Port in Shenzhen is fairly well connected, but the choice of metro or Didi depends on your preference for convenience versus cost.
Metro access:
- Line 12 (Taiziwan): This line currently ends near Taiziwan, which is slightly further from the main Shekou Port terminal. Walking with luggage from this station to the ferry or cruise area can be inconvenient.
- Line 2 (Shekou Port): Line 2 directly serves Shekou Port Station, which is the closest metro stop to the ferry terminal. From this station, it is a short walk (about 5–10 minutes depending on your terminal) to the port entrance, making it the most convenient metro option for travelers with luggage.
Didi / Ride-hailing option:
- For travelers carrying luggage or preferring door-to-door service, taking a Didi is generally easier than navigating the metro with suitcases.
- There is a designated pick-up/drop-off area for ride-hailing services near the Shekou Port entrance. Most Didi drivers are familiar with the port and can drop you directly at the ferry or cruise terminal entrance.
- Costs are reasonable for short distances within Shekou, and it also saves time, especially early in the morning or late at night.
Recommendation: If you’re comfortable with a short walk and want the cheapest option, take Line 2 to Shekou Port Station. If convenience and luggage handling are important, book a Didi directly from your location to the port; it will likely be the smoothest option.
