Accommodation in LA for 4

Hello does anyone know of any accommodation for 4 boys wanting to visit LA. 17&18 year olds. Preferably all want own bed. I thought because of age , Santa Monica area may be best. Any advise much appreciated . Ideally not sharing with other (ie hostel)

Finding accommodation in Los Angeles for four teenage boys—each wanting their own bed and ideally staying somewhere safe and teen-friendly—can be a little challenging, especially if you want to avoid hostels. However, there are several good hotel and suite-style options that work well for groups and offer the safety and convenience you’re looking for.

Santa Monica is an excellent choice for teens because it’s walkable, very safe, and full of restaurants, shops, the beach, and attractions like the Pier. It’s also a great home base for exploring LA without being in a gritty or isolated area. That said, Santa Monica hotels can be pricey, so looking at suite properties or areas nearby may give you more value.

Here are some recommended accommodation types and specific options that can comfortably fit four teens with separate beds or convertible sleeping setups.

  • Courtyard by Marriott Santa Monica – Offers rooms with two queen beds plus a sofa bed. Modern, safe location right by the Expo Line and walking distance to the Promenade.
  • DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Santa Monica – Large suites with two beds + a sofa bed in a separate living room. Good value for Santa Monica and plenty of space for four.
  • Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Monica – Studio and one-bedroom suites with full kitchens and multiple sleeping options (two queens + sofa bed). Ideal for teens needing extra room and comfort.

If Santa Monica hotels feel too expensive, the neighboring Westside communities offer excellent safety, good transit access, and more reasonable prices. These areas are also popular with families and young travelers.

  • Hilton Los Angeles Culver City – Clean, safe, near LAX and the Westside. Many rooms offer two queen beds + sofa bed options.
  • Hyatt House West Los Angeles – Apartment-style rooms with full kitchens and multiple bed configurations, great for groups.
  • Embassy Suites LAX North or South – Large two-room suites with two beds plus a sofa bed; good pricing and generous space for four teens.

Another strategy is to consider apartment-style hotel brands, which are ideal for groups because they offer kitchens, large layouts, and multiple sleeping surfaces without the shared environment of a hostel.

  • Homewood Suites (various LA locations) – Suites with full kitchens and multiple beds/sofa beds; good for longer stays.
  • Staybridge Suites Torrance / Century City – Safe suburban areas and very accommodating for groups.
  • Level Furnished Living (Downtown LA) – Luxury apartment-style units with multiple beds and huge space; DTLA requires more caution at night, but the building itself is extremely secure.

If having four actual separate beds is essential (not sharing queens), look for suite hotels that offer two queens + a sofa bed or request a rollaway. Some extended-stay hotels also offer two-bedroom suites, which are ideal for teens since each bedroom often has two beds.

Overall, Santa Monica is arguably the best choice for safety, nightlife appropriate for their age, and walkability. If budget is a concern, West LA, Culver City, or Marina del Rey offer great alternatives without sacrificing safety or convenience. With four boys, prioritizing a suite hotel will give them space and the separate sleeping arrangements you’re looking for.
