Need to go to a wedding and plan to stay in northern Columbus Georgia area. What are the newest, cleanest hotels in that area?? Been reading reviews of some of the usual chain places and they are horrible.....complaints of filthy bedding, bed bugs and roaches. Should I stay in a different city?? Thanks for any help. We're traveling with an 82 year old woman so would need handicapped rooms as well. Not looking forward to this!
It’s understandable that you'd want a clean, comfortable, and safe place to stay, especially when traveling with an elderly family member. Fortunately, there are several well-reviewed hotels in the northern Columbus, Georgia area that may better meet your expectations, avoiding the issues you've seen in some reviews for other places. Here are a few recommendations that have received positive feedback for their cleanliness, modern amenities, and accessibility for handicapped rooms:
If you're still concerned about cleanliness or would prefer to stay in a nearby city, Auburn, Alabama, just about a 30-minute drive from Columbus, might offer more options with a higher number of newer hotels. The area has more recently built hotels with positive reviews, so it could be worth considering if you don’t mind the extra travel time.
It's always a good idea to check current reviews closer to your stay for the most recent feedback. Websites like TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, or Booking.com often provide up-to-date information that can give you a better sense of what to expect.
