Snorkel Gear, Wetsuits, and Boogie Boards
Hi, I'm looking for a shop that rents all three:
1. Snorkel Gear
2. Wetsuits
3. Boogie Boards
Goff Tours rents them, but I learned that he won't be available when we are visiting Laguna. I can only find shops that have wetsuits and boogie boards, but they don't rent snorkel gear. (You can only buy it).
Any tips?
Thank you!
Laguna Beach has several surf and dive shops, but finding a single shop that rents snorkel gear, wetsuits, and boogie boards can be a little tricky. Most surf shops focus on boards and wetsuits, while dive shops focus on snorkel gear. Here are some options and strategies to consider:
First, it may be easiest to rent from multiple nearby shops if no single place has everything. Laguna Beach is compact, so it won’t take long to pick up gear from different locations.
- Snorkel Gear: For snorkeling, you might want to check local dive shops. Shops like “Laguna Dive Center” or “Dive N’ Surf” often rent full snorkel kits. Call ahead to confirm availability.
- Wetsuits & Boogie Boards: Surf shops in Laguna, such as “Driftwood Surf Shop” or “Pacific Edge Surf Shop,” typically rent wetsuits and boogie boards. You can pick these up on the same day as your water activity.
- Combo Rentals: Some local tour companies or beach outfitters may rent all three, but availability can vary seasonally. Consider checking out “Action Sports Rentals” or “Laguna Beach Rentals,” as they occasionally carry complete water sport kits.
Other tips:
- Call in advance to reserve gear. Popular times in summer and early fall can sell out quickly.
- Ask if shops offer delivery or pickup at a central beach. Some rental companies are willing to drop off gear for a fee.
- If you’re only snorkeling, a lightweight mask, snorkel, and fins can sometimes be purchased inexpensively and may be more convenient than renting if availability is limited.
Overall, your best approach is a combination of surf shops for wetsuits/boogie boards and dive shops for snorkel gear. With a little planning, you can have all your gear ready for a full day of water fun in Laguna Beach.
