Aliso Viejo Bus

Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me.

Our accommodation as let us down 2 weeks before our stay near Laguna. I have found a replacement accommodation in Aliso Viejo. Is there a bus that connects Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach? Any information will be greatly received, cheers

Aliso Viejo is located inland from Laguna Beach, and while there is no direct city-to-city shuttle or express bus dedicated solely to that route, there are public transit options that can connect you between the two locations.

Public Transit Options:

  • Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Buses: OCTA provides bus services in the area. You can use a combination of routes to reach Laguna Beach from Aliso Viejo. The main lines include:
    • Route 86 – connects Aliso Viejo to Laguna Niguel and other nearby areas; you may need to transfer to Route 72 or Route 193 to reach Laguna Beach.
    • Route 72 – serves Laguna Beach and can be used after transferring from Aliso Viejo via Route 86 or other connecting routes.
  • Trip planning via the OCTA website or Google Maps is recommended to find current schedules and transfer points.

Alternative Options:

  • Ride-sharing services: Uber or Lyft can be a convenient, direct, and faster option between Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach, especially if you plan to travel multiple times per day.
  • Biking: If you enjoy cycling and the weather is favorable, it is about a 10–12 mile ride depending on your route, though this involves some hilly terrain and may not be ideal with luggage.

Tips:

  • Check OCTA schedules ahead of time, as weekend and holiday services may be limited.
  • Be prepared for transfers, as there is no single direct bus connecting Aliso Viejo to Laguna Beach.
  • If convenience and time efficiency are important, ride-sharing is likely the best option.

Overall, public transit is possible but may require planning and transfers. For flexibility and ease, especially with luggage or multiple trips, a car, rental, or ride-share would save time and provide more direct access between Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach.
