Kumulani at Mauna Kea Resort

Hello! We are looking at booking 2 units at Kumulani at Mauna Kea for a trip next summer. Does anyone know how the units are situated in each building? Obviously 1 and 2 are ground level but is unit 3 above 1 or 2? Trying to book two units on the same side of the building. Thank you!

Kumulani at Mauna Kea Resort is a low-rise condominium complex with units typically arranged over two floors. Understanding the layout can help you book units close to each other and on the same side of the building.

Based on typical floor plans shared by past guests and the resort’s layout:

  • Units 1 and 2 are on the ground floor. Unit 1 is usually on one end of the building, and Unit 2 is adjacent to it on the same side.
  • Unit 3 is located directly above Unit 1 on the second floor. Similarly, Unit 4 is above Unit 2. So if you want two units on the same side, choosing Units 1 and 3 (or 2 and 4) will place them vertically aligned rather than side by side on the ground floor.
  • Units 5 and 6 follow the same pattern on the other side of the building.

If your goal is to have two units side by side rather than stacked, booking two consecutive odd or even numbers on the same floor (for example, Units 1 and 2 on the ground floor or Units 3 and 4 on the second floor) is recommended.

Additional tips:

  • Confirm with the property manager or rental company when booking, as some buildings may have slight variations in numbering or layout.
  • If possible, request a unit map showing the orientation and proximity of your units to ensure both are on the same side of the building.
  • Consider floor preference: ground floor units offer easier access, while second floor units may provide better views and more privacy.

By booking consecutive units on the same floor and confirming the exact layout with the rental office, you can ensure your party stays close together while enjoying the amenities of Mauna Kea Resort.
