Sarasota Beach Resorts

My husband and I are looking at a three night stay and are looking at the Lido Beach Resort, the Resort at Longboat Key and the Zota Beach Resort. We like having restaurants on site, pool of course, coffee, lunch, poolside service etc,.. Which would be best to stay at?

All three resorts you’re considering—Lido Beach Resort, the Resort at Longboat Key, and Zota Beach Resort—are fantastic options, each with its unique charm and amenities. Since you're looking for a place with restaurants on-site, pools, poolside service, and overall comfort, here's a breakdown of each property to help you choose the best fit for your stay:

Lido Beach Resort

Lido Beach Resort is a well-established, family-friendly beachfront property located on Lido Key, just a short distance from downtown Sarasota. It offers a relaxing atmosphere with easy access to the beach, restaurants, and shopping nearby. Here’s what you can expect:

  • On-Site Dining: The resort has a casual, beachfront restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a bar that offers poolside drinks and snacks. There’s also a café on the property for coffee and light bites.
  • Beach Access: Lido Beach is right across from the resort, and the resort has lounge chairs and umbrellas available for rent, which is great for lounging in the sun.
  • Pools & Amenities: There’s a large outdoor pool, hot tub, and poolside service, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed day by the water. It’s a comfortable, mid-range resort ideal for couples who want a simple beach getaway.
  • Proximity to Attractions: It’s located near Lido Key and St. Armands Circle, which has plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, so you’ll have plenty to explore during your stay.

Resort at Longboat Key

The Resort at Longboat Key is a more luxurious, quieter option with a more private, upscale feel. It's located on the north end of Longboat Key, just across from Sarasota Bay. This resort focuses on providing a more tranquil and upscale resort experience:

  • On-Site Dining: The resort offers fine dining at the Sands Pointe Restaurant, which serves dinner and has a great selection of seafood. For a more casual experience, there’s a beach bar with poolside service and snacks.
  • Beach Access: The resort is directly on the beach, offering easy access to the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The beach here is quieter compared to Lido Key and has fewer crowds.
  • Pools & Amenities: There are two heated outdoor pools, a hot tub, and a fitness center. Poolside service is available, so you can relax and have drinks or food brought to you while you enjoy the sun.
  • Tranquil Atmosphere: This resort is known for its peaceful, refined ambiance. It’s great for couples who want a more secluded and romantic atmosphere with a focus on relaxation and luxury.

Zota Beach Resort

Zota Beach Resort is a newer and more modern beachfront property located on Longboat Key. It's a boutique-style resort that offers a mix of elegance and casual beach vibes, with some excellent amenities. Here’s what Zota has to offer:

  • On-Site Dining: Zota Beach Resort has an upscale restaurant, The Zota Grill, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features fresh seafood and a variety of local dishes. The resort also has a bar for drinks by the pool.
  • Beach Access: This resort offers direct beach access, with cabanas and umbrellas available for rent, and it’s situated on a quieter part of Longboat Key, providing a relaxing environment.
  • Pools & Amenities: Zota has a beautiful outdoor pool with stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The resort also has a hot tub, fitness center, and poolside service, ensuring you have everything you need to unwind.
  • Modern & Stylish Atmosphere: Zota Beach Resort is modern, stylish, and offers a more contemporary design compared to the other two resorts. If you’re looking for a newer property with upscale amenities and a more sleek, chic atmosphere, this is a great option.

Which Resort is Best for You?

If you're looking for a relaxed, family-friendly environment with a prime location near Sarasota’s shops and restaurants, Lido Beach Resort would be your best bet. It offers all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay, with easy beach access and a laid-back vibe.

If you prefer a more luxurious and quieter stay with a refined atmosphere, then the Resort at Longboat Key would be ideal. It’s perfect for couples seeking privacy and relaxation, with beautiful beach views and excellent dining options.

For a newer, more modern resort with a blend of elegance and contemporary style, Zota Beach Resort offers a more upscale experience and is great if you like a more polished, boutique resort with great on-site dining and amenities.

All three resorts offer great experiences, but based on your preferences for on-site dining, pools, and a relaxed atmosphere, I’d recommend Zota Beach Resort for its modern aesthetic and great beach access, or Resort at Longboat Key if you want a quieter, more luxurious escape.
