Hollywood Fl hotels

We travel to Hollywood every few years to visit relatives. Every year it becomes harder to find a clean, safe, reasonably priced place to stay. Prices go up but quality goes down. 'Sketchy' areas, poor housekeeping, no staff, grey towels, unsafe parking even when an extra fee is charged, and this year we see 13% tax and 'resort fee'. Cheap, dirty and unsafe for $200/nt o or more. Can anyone recommend a hotel or motel in Hollywood, beach or town with higher standards ?

Hollywood, FL has definitely seen an increase in hotel prices over the past few years, especially with added resort fees and local taxes. Finding a property that balances cleanliness, safety, and reasonable pricing can be challenging, but there are a few strategies and options worth considering.

General Advice:

  • Focus on hotels either directly on the beach (Hollywood Beach Broadwalk area) or within a few blocks of the downtown area; these areas tend to have better maintained properties and safer surroundings.
  • Check recent guest reviews carefully—look for mentions of cleanliness, housekeeping quality, staff presence, and secure parking.
  • Book directly with reputable hotel chains when possible; they are more likely to maintain higher standards than independent motels.

Recommended Hotels / Options in Hollywood, FL:

  • Diplomat Beach Resort – Upscale beachfront resort with excellent housekeeping, secure parking, and full amenities. A bit pricey but high quality.
  • Hollywood Beach Marriott – Located right on the beach, clean rooms, good security, and reliable service. Pool, restaurants, and beach access included.
  • Solé Miami, A Noble House Resort – Slightly south of Hollywood but still close to the beach, boutique-style resort with high standards.
  • Plaza Hotel – A smaller, mid-range hotel option in town with good reviews for cleanliness and safety. No beachfront but convenient location.
  • Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hollywood – Located a few blocks inland, reliable brand quality, safe parking, clean rooms, and complimentary breakfast.

Tips to Avoid Issues:

  • Ask about resort fees and parking fees upfront to avoid surprises.
  • Request a room on a higher floor or away from the street to reduce noise and increase security.
  • Verify housekeeping frequency if staying more than a night or two.
  • Consider booking refundable rates—this allows switching to a better-reviewed property if needed.

By focusing on well-reviewed, branded hotels or high-end beachfront properties, you can avoid many of the “sketchy” issues common in cheaper motels and enjoy a safer, cleaner stay in Hollywood.
