Hi,
I will be going to AZ in nov and for 1 day we will be staying in Phoenix (the day before we departure back home). I have 1 free night with IHG and my only options are:
Holiday Inn & Suites Phoenix Airport North
Staybridge Suites Phoenix – Biltmore Area
Is one are better than the other? are they both the same. I was hoping to drop off the rental and just walk around the last day but not sure how walkable anything is. We will probably have from the afternoon and evening in phoenix.
Both of your IHG free night options in Phoenix are solid, but they serve slightly different purposes depending on what you want to do during your short stay.
The Holiday Inn & Suites Phoenix Airport North is conveniently located very close to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, which makes it extremely easy if your focus is on minimizing travel to the airport or dropping off a rental car. This location is very practical for a late-night or early-morning flight. However, the area around the hotel is primarily commercial and not very walkable for sightseeing, dining, or exploring Phoenix in the afternoon and evening.
The Staybridge Suites Phoenix – Biltmore Area is located in a more central part of Phoenix near the upscale Biltmore neighborhood. While it’s still not a dense urban area like downtown, it offers better options for walking to local restaurants, coffee shops, and small shops. You could spend a few hours strolling around the Biltmore area or relax at the hotel and enjoy its amenities, such as a pool or fitness center. The Biltmore area also gives you a more scenic, residential feel of Phoenix.
For a single afternoon and evening in Phoenix, walking options are limited citywide outside of downtown, so even in the Biltmore area you might need a short drive or rideshare to get to interesting spots. If you don’t plan to rent a car again, Staybridge Suites is still preferable for a little more local vibe, restaurants, and a more enjoyable evening atmosphere.
