Hello! My husband and I are planning a visit to Antelope Canyon early in April. We will be driving from Flagstaff. We decided to on the lower canyon and have been looking at Ken’s. The general tour is $55.00 and it’s $67,00 for the general tour with transfer. The transfer is from Lake & Stone in Page. Is there some advantage to booking the tour with this transfer? Additionally, we are looking to book a 12:30P or 1:00P time slot. Would this be good? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
Visiting Lower Antelope Canyon is a fantastic choice, and booking a tour in early April is a great time—crowds are moderate and lighting in the canyon is good for photos, though midday light beams are more prominent in Upper Canyon.
Regarding the transfer option:
The $55 general tour covers the guided walk through Lower Canyon itself. The $67 option includes a transfer from Lake & Stone in Page to the canyon entrance. The transfer can be convenient if:
If you are driving directly from Flagstaff, you may not gain much from the transfer, since the drive is straightforward and having your car gives you flexibility before or after the tour.
Time slot considerations:
Booking a 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM slot is reasonable. Lower Canyon is narrower than Upper Canyon, so it doesn’t get the dramatic overhead light beams, but the lighting inside is still good. For photography, later morning to early afternoon (10 AM–1 PM) usually offers softer, more even light, which helps avoid overly harsh shadows in the canyon. Early afternoon is fine for most visitors.
Additional suggestions:
In summary, the transfer is mainly a convenience for those who do not want to drive or worry about parking. Since you are driving from Flagstaff, it’s optional rather than necessary. Your chosen 12:30–1:00 PM slot is perfectly fine for enjoying the canyon comfortably.
