Page and Sedona late Match-Early April Advice

We are traveling to AZ March 29- April 5 this year flying into PHX and driving right to Page to spend 2 nights. I’ve booked a tour for antelope canyon and horseshoe bend morning March 30. We plan to visit Grand Canyon Monday March 31 - no tour booked. Then head to Sedona and spend the remaining days there until we leave 4/5

Now, we may have more interest in visiting Lake Powell - Will the weather be ok for this? is there fishing and kayaking we can do that are worth another night?

- what is most important in a Sedona rental: the view?

- thinking of a spa/massage day in Sedona, any recommendations?

Thank you!

Visiting Page and Sedona in late March to early April is generally a wonderful time as temperatures are mild and crowds are manageable compared to peak season. Your plan to spend two nights in Page for Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend is solid, and adding time for Lake Powell can enhance your trip, but there are a few considerations.

Lake Powell: In late March/early April, daytime temperatures are usually in the mid-50s to low-70s, but the water can still be quite cold, so swimming is not ideal. Kayaking and fishing are possible, but you will need to dress warmly and be prepared for chilly wind on the water. If you enjoy boating, renting a small motorboat, pontoon, or taking a guided tour can be more comfortable than kayaking in early spring. If you extend your Page stay by one night for Lake Powell, it could give you a more relaxed pace to enjoy the scenery.

Sedona Rentals: The view is one of the most sought-after features, especially the red rock formations. However, other considerations are important:

  • Proximity to hiking trails or downtown Sedona if you plan to explore frequently.
  • Outdoor amenities like patios or hot tubs to enjoy the view.
  • Parking availability, especially if you plan to drive to trailheads or restaurants.

Spa/Massage Recommendations in Sedona: Sedona is known for wellness and spa options. Popular choices for a relaxing experience include:

  • Amara Resort & Spa – Known for luxurious treatments and a scenic location near Oak Creek.
  • Enchantment Resort Spa – Offers signature Sedona-inspired therapies with views of Boynton Canyon.
  • Mii amo Spa – If you’re willing to drive a short distance to Canyon de Chelly area, they offer high-end wellness experiences.
  • Local day spas in Uptown Sedona – Many smaller spas offer massages and facials at reasonable rates for a half-day relaxation.

Other tips for your trip:

  • Weather can be variable, so pack layers, especially for early mornings and evenings.
  • Sunrise and sunset are spectacular at both Lake Powell and Sedona, so plan your outings accordingly.
  • Make reservations for popular spas or rentals as early as possible to ensure availability in spring.

Overall, adding a night for Lake Powell is feasible if you enjoy water-based activities and scenic relaxation, and in Sedona, prioritizing a rental with a view will enhance your experience, but don’t overlook proximity and comfort features. The spa day will be a great way to unwind after hiking and sightseeing.
