Pray to the God Guan Yu at the Guan Yu Shrine

Guan Yu Shrine is an ancient shrine with a history of over 288 years. It is located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Somdej Ya community. According to legend, there are 3 statues of the “God Guan Yu” inside the shrine, each with different sizes: a small statue, a medium statue, and a large statue. The smallest statue was the first statue to be brought to Thailand around 2279 BE, during the reign of Emperor Chenlong of the Qing Dynasty. The Hokkien Chinese brought it from Hokkien Province by boat. Later, in 2345 BE, during the reign of Emperor Jiaxing of the Qing Dynasty, someone brought another statue of the middle Guan Yu. Later, in 2365 BE, during the reign of Emperor Tao Guang of the Qing Dynasty, a tycoon named Mr. Kong Seng renovated the pavilion to be larger and invited the third Guan Yu statue to reside in the pavilion, making a total of 3 statues, along with a bell. 🎎How to worship and ask for blessings
💰Average price per person: Buy a tea set and mooncakes from “Baan Akong Ama”, a riverside cafe near the shrine, for 65 baht.
To worship, you will need 11 incense sticks and 1 pair of candles, which the shrine has prepared. We must worship at the following points in the following order:
Point 1: Worship the gods of heaven and earth, stick 5 incense sticks
Point 2: Worship the god Guan Yu, stick 3 incense sticks
Point 3: Worship the Bodhisattva Guan Yin, stick 3 incense sticks
During this time, there is PM 2.5 dust, so the shrine does not allow lighting incense. You can buy just a tea set.

🕰️Opening hours: Open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

🏖️Facilities: Parking is available in front of the Guan Yu Shrine. If it's full, you can park at the entrance of the shrine for 20 baht.

🗓️Travel planning: 🛳️Take a ferry from Ratchawong Pier to Tha Din Daeng Pier for 4 baht and take a motorcycle taxi from the pier to Kuan Yu Shrine for 30 baht.
🚇MRT Itsaraphap Station, then take a taxi or motorcycle taxi for about 2-3 kilometers.
🚆 BTS (Gold Line), get off at Icon Siam, Charoen Nakhon Station, then take a taxi or motorcycle taxi for about 1-2 kilometers.
