Super useful travel guide for Weizhou Island

Preparation

Book ferry tickets in advance on the "Lai You Ba" mini program and choose a cabin according to your seasickness level. Book accommodation 1–2 months in advance during peak season. We recommend staying at a guesthouse near Wucai Beach or Shiluokou. Prepare sunscreen, light clothes, and stomach medicine.

Itinerary

- Day 1: After arriving on Weizhou Island, take a sightseeing bus or taxi to your guesthouse to drop off your luggage. In the afternoon, head to Shiluokou Beach to enjoy the stunning sunset and water activities. In the evening, buy seafood at a nearby seafood market and find a restaurant to cook it for you.

- Day 2: Get up early to watch the sunrise at Wucai Beach. The sunlight on the colorful reefs is stunning. Then, head to Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area to see the unique volcanic geological landscape. In the afternoon, go to Dishui Danping to stroll along the beach and admire the unique sea erosion landscape. In the evening, go to Nanwan Street to enjoy the lively nightlife.

- Day 3: In the morning, visit the Catholic Church to admire the Gothic architecture. Then, head to Shell Beach, which has fine sand and is covered with shells. In the afternoon, pack your luggage and prepare to return.

Transportation

Renting an electric scooter is the most convenient way to get around. It costs CNY 40–80 per day. Pay attention to the battery level and condition of the scooter. If you are traveling in a group, you can rent a car for CNY 200–300 per day. Agree on the price and route in advance.

Food recommendations

Seafood is a must-try. We recommend salt and pepper mantis shrimp and steamed grouper. Local snacks include banana pancakes and sweet soup, which are sweet and delicious.
