Gubei Water Town (Gubei Water Town, Gubei Water Town)

If anyone has a plan to travel to Beijing and wants to find a quiet location with a retro atmosphere like an old city, I would recommend Gubei Water Town, which is only about 120 kilometers from the center of Beijing. It is easy to travel, there are direct buses from Beijing or you can rent a car. It takes about 2-3 hours to travel.

Although it is not a real old city, it was meticulously built by the Chinese government to simulate the atmosphere of an ancient city along the river. The architecture, wooden buildings, arched bridges and stone walkways have beautiful photo spots in every corner. You can walk around all day without getting bored.

It is recommended to stay overnight because if you stay at a hotel in the water city, you will get a special entrance fee of only 80 yuan/person and will receive a QR Code to scan to enter and exit the city conveniently. There is a free shuttle bus that runs between the hotel, tourist spots and the entrance to the city.

Don't worry about food, there are many Chinese restaurants, cafes and local desserts. You can choose to pay with cash or scan the QR code.

There are also many activities! There are local performances such as Chinese opera and performances of various tribes.
Take a boat trip to see the old city. At night, the lights reflecting on the water is extremely romantic. Or you can go up to see the view on Simatai Great Wall because it is very close.
