Kotor Bay, Europe's southernmost fjord and the most indented part of the Adriatic Sea, is one of Europe's best natural harbors, renowned as "the most beautiful bay in the Mediterranean," with its sparkling, golden-hued waters. A boat trip to the Blue Grotto (Figure 3) is one of Kotor Bay's most popular and visited attractions. Sunlight shines through the cave entrance, dyeing the cave's seawater a captivating blue. The water is icy cold, yet foreigners dare to swim in it (Figure 4), which is admirable. In Kotor Bay, you might also spot a deep cave on the water's surface (Figures 6, 7). It is said that these water tunnels were built during the Tito era of former Yugoslavia to conceal strategic submarines, with a total of three such hidden submarine tunnels constructed in Kotor Bay.
