Mingyue Mountain Hiking Guide｜A Secret Spot Just 1 Hour from Changsha Suburbs🌄

Don’t want to be surrounded by crowds this weekend? Mingyue Mountain, located on the edge of Changsha County, is definitely a hidden treasure for hiking enthusiasts! This 658.6-meter peak, the highest in Changsha County, offers stunning and healing views of both Heimi Peak and the pastoral scenery at the mountain’s base after reaching the summit~

📍Recommended Hiking Route:
It’s best to start from the Mingyue Village Committee at the foot of the mountain (search "Mingyue Village Committee" on your GPS). The entire route is about a 5 km loop. The first section is a steep stone stairway, so non-slip hiking shoes are recommended; the latter half is a gentle dirt path where you can see waterfalls and bamboo groves along the way—perfect for photos and check-ins!

💡Useful Tips:
1. The best time to shoot photos on the summit platform is between 9-11 AM when the lighting is optimal and not backlit.
2. Remember to bring enough drinking water; there are no supply points on the mountain (I brought two bottles and still didn’t have enough to drink😭).
3. The free-range chicken at the "Farmhouse Courtyard" at the foot of the mountain is delicious—be sure to try it after your hike! It’s located next to the Mingyue Village bus stop.
4. In summer, it’s recommended to start hiking at 7 AM to avoid the hottest hours (I personally experienced heatstroke hiking at noon).

Drive to "Mingyue Mountain Trailhead"—about a 1-hour drive.
Or take bus X202 to Mingyue Village Station (about 1.5 hours).
