No More Crowded Tourist Spots with Kids! Save This Chengdu Travel Guide

Only after becoming parents do we understand that holidays shouldn't be about fighting for tickets and navigating through crowds. We've discovered a new way to travel with kids—check in at Kempinski Hotel Chengdu for a comfortable and convenient family trip!

Kempinski Hotel Chengdu is located in the core area of Tongzilin in the south of the city, with an excellent location. On one side is the cultural heritage of old Chengdu, and on the other is the prosperity of the southern urban economic circle. It's just a 3-minute walk to the subway station, and within walking distance to Yulin Food Street and bars. Popular attractions like Chunxi Road, Taikoo Li, Wide and Narrow Alleys, Jinli, and Tianfu Square are all within a 20-minute drive.

We stayed in a luxury room on the 14th floor of the hotel, which featured panoramic windows offering views of the busy elevated highways and occasional low-flying aircraft taking off and landing at Shuangliu Airport.

The room thoughtfully provided children's dental kits, bathrobes, and slippers. The children's toothbrush was adorably panda-shaped, making brushing teeth both fun and comfortable for kids. The bathroom amenities were from the Spanish luxury skincare brand "Rituals," with subtle scents of rosemary and white tea that were truly refreshing. The room's fresh air system and King Koil mattress ensured a comfortable night's sleep.

Dr. Craft Beer & Wine Bar on the first floor creates a romantic atmosphere with warm vintage lighting, making it a popular spot for trendsetters. We enjoyed the "Guizhou Iron Skewer" BBQ set for two, which included Guizhou-style crispy roasted eggplant, spicy beef tenderloin, grilled alkaline bread slices, and other barbecued items, paired with German craft beer—delicious and satisfying.

Breakfast was served at Elements German Restaurant on the second floor, offering a wide variety of Chinese and Western cuisines! The honey scraped fresh from the honeycomb was particularly fresh, and servers brought freshly baked egg tarts and croissants to our table. Our child ate with great enjoyment and played in the children's play area next to the restaurant. I always order the made-to-order Omelet and Eggs Benedict, while the Sichuan specialties like chicken cold noodles, Chuanbei jelly, and tofu pudding are must-try delicacies—authentic and delicious!

The huge swimming pool and hot tubs on the fourth floor are a source of joy for children! The water is crystal clear, and there are three hot tubs with different temperatures.

During the day, we strolled around the neighborhood with our child, experiencing both poetry and fun: reciting "Slipping quietly into the night with the wind" at Du Fu Thatched Cottage; enjoying a cup of "Snow Floating on Emerald Pond" tea at Homing Teahouse in People's Park to experience Chengdu's slow lifestyle; visiting Wuhou Shrine to tell the story of "Borrowing Arrows with Straw Boats" among the red walls and bamboo shadows; and exploring Jinli Ancient Street as the lights came on, watching sugar painting and Sichuan opera face-changing performances... No need to chase crowds to collect the beauty of the entire city.

As a long-established German luxury hotel brand, Kempinski has stood the test of time, maintaining its vintage charm while adding modern vitality after renovation. Here, the elegant and refined service of the German brand is fully displayed, making it a quality choice for the May Day holiday!
