During this trip to Chiayi, I discovered many tourist factories in the area. One of the highlights was the Jordanes Castle in Dalin, Chiayi, which felt like stepping into a dreamy European realm. This tourist factory, built with an investment of 3 billion NTD, combines Baroque and Renaissance architectural styles. Its exterior is stunningly luxurious, resembling a castle straight out of a fairytale. The massive copper dome glimmers under the sunlight, while the park is adorned with intricate sculptures, fountains, romantic European-style gardens, and ceremonial corridors. Every corner is perfect for taking photos, making it a new hotspot for social media influencers.
However, visiting on a weekday revealed a few minor drawbacks. Some areas of the castle were closed, likely due to lower weekday visitor numbers, leading to facility rotations or adjustments, which was slightly disappointing. Although the entrance fee is only 200 NTD and includes a 100 NTD voucher, the voucher's usage is quite limited. It can only be redeemed at specific product counters, with one voucher per item, no change given, and cannot be used at the restaurant or marketplace, making its flexibility relatively low.
Overall, Jordanes Castle is undoubtedly a dreamy destination worth visiting, ideal for photography and soaking in the European ambiance. To enjoy a more complete experience, visiting on weekends is recommended, along with checking the availability of facilities in advance. Additionally, being aware of the voucher's usage restrictions can help avoid affecting your overall enjoyment. Despite these minor issues, this beautiful castle remains a place that leaves visitors enchanted.
