The Boboli Gardens are located in the Pitti Palace. They are a classic type of ancient Roman gardens built on the hills and slopes behind the Pitti Palace. Designed and built by the famous designer Tripolo in 1565, it was the private courtyard of the Medici family at the time.
Its unique geographical location makes it different from the neat and symmetrical style of most European gardens. On the left, garden paths, fountains, beautiful sculptures and caves are arranged according to the tour route. Walking along the trail, it seems to relive the luxurious outdoor life in the palace at that time. Going up the hill, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the city of Florence. The weather is refreshing and comfortable after the rain.
There is also the Grotta di Madama al Giardino di Boboli at the end of the garden. It was built by Bernardo Buontalenti in 1570 in memory of the Austrian Princess Giovanna. Through a closed iron door, the viewer can overlook a marble basin with four different goats carved on it. Stalactites are arranged in the basin, creating a grotto-like atmosphere.
