Walking through the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, the Shiomi Otaro stood quietly before my eyes. Amid the bustling crowd, a hint of gentleness accumulated over the years could be felt, which moved me. This two-story tower restored in Maizuru Park was originally a key point for monitoring the Genkai Sea, and carries the samurai spirit of the Kuroda Nagamasa era. If you take a closer look, the simple wooden structure and white painted walls contrast beautifully with the surrounding cherry blossoms and stone walls, making you feel as if you have traveled back to the Edo era.
At this moment, when the hydrangeas are in full bloom, the surrounding area turns into a sea of blue and purple flowers, which contrasts with the quaint white walls. It is like a dream, making people unable to help but stop and admire. The view of Hakata Bay is breathtaking. Although Shiomi Turret has been relocated and rebuilt, it still retains a sense of historical weight, allowing people to feel the vitality of cultural heritage and is worth careful appreciation.
Transportation: Take the Fukuoka City Subway to Ohori Park Station and walk for about 10 minutes
