"Chùa Bà Thiên Hậu" in Cholon (Chinatown) in Ho Chi Minh City is a Chinese temple dedicated to the Tianhou Virgin Mary, the patron deity of navigation. Built in the early 19th century, this temple is the center of faith for Chinese people living in Vietnam, and many people still visit to offer prayers🙏
When you step inside the temple, the smell of incense drifts and the decorations based on red and gold jump into your eyes. The spiral-shaped incense sticks hanging from the ceiling are filled with wishes. The mysterious sight is breathtaking✨
When I actually visited, I was impressed by the tranquility of the "place of prayer" rather than that of a tourist spot. It's nice for couples to light incense sticks with their wishes, and it's also a perfect time to calm your mind when traveling alone. Photography is allowed, but please observe etiquette and quietly look around📷
It is located in the center of Cholon district and is within walking distance of Binh Tay Market. It is about a 20-minute taxi ride from the city center.
Away from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, take a trip to pray quietly. Why not spend a memorable time at Thien Hau Pagoda?
