Pancake Date

Weekend lunch with friends, a cafe seems to be the first choice, and my friend suggested having pancakes. I had no objections.

I still remember seven or eight years ago, pancake specialty stores were everywhere in Hong Kong. I visited quite a few, but as my enthusiasm waned, I rarely ate them anymore.

This time, I tried Tera for the first time.

Although it is a Souffle Pancake specialty store, they also offer pasta and all-day breakfast. Now that I'm older, the days of having sweets as a main meal are over. I need some savory food, so we started with an all-day breakfast to share.

Don't expect a traditional English all-day breakfast here. There's no black pudding or even hash browns. However, their black truffle scrambled eggs (of course, it's just truffle sauce) are tender and smooth, the mushrooms are fragrant, there's half an avocado, and the waffle is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nothing much to complain about.

We also tried the shell cake, which was the popular pistachio flavor. The texture was good, and the pistachio flavor was prominent, better than expected.

The star of the show was still the jiggly pancakes. We chose the golden Nutella flavor. The three-layer pancakes were fluffy and had the desired wobble effect. The airy texture paired with chocolate sauce was hard to go wrong.

My friend had tea, and I opted for a yogurt drink. I originally wanted to end with an Affogato, but our capacity was too weak, so maybe next time.
