"Lingnan Garden" is a traditional Chinese-style park located within Lai Chi Kok Park, covering an area of 12,500 square meters, with a water feature area of approximately 2,600 square meters. Since the park is situated in Lai Chi Kok, and lychee is a famous fruit of the Lingnan region, the park was constructed in the traditional Lingnan style.
The park is divided into 10 scenic areas, with buildings radiating outward from a central pond, arranged in a courtyard and corridor layout. The architectural artistry within the park, including ceramic sculptures, tile work, plaster sculptures, stone carvings, and wooden structures, all adopt the Lingnan style. The artificial rock formations primarily use Yingde Taihu stones. From the east gate to the bridge corridor, the eaves are adorned with colorful fiber optic lights, adding a charming allure to the park under the moonlight.
The Hong Kong drama "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" was once a very famous and popular palace intrigue series in Hong Kong. It was highly acclaimed at the time, and many people might have watched it. A lot of viewers assumed that the scenes were filmed in mainland China, but in fact, some of the garden scenes were shot in this park in Mei Foo. Now, you can visit this classic filming location, which feels like stepping into a historical drama, without spending a single dollar. This place is originally a free community park open to the public. Interestingly, not many people know that "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" was filmed here, so it hasn't attracted a large number of drama fans to visit.
