Mt. Kurikoma

Mt. Kurikoma (栗駒山) is a 1,626-meter-high mountain

part of Kurikoma Quasi-National Park
. It's one of Japan's most popular hiking spots.

From September to October, the entire mountain turns a stunning red-orange, earning it the nickname "the carpet of the gods." If you're a nature lover,
hiking and enjoying the view will be a must-do.

・Access: The nearest airport is Sendai Airport!

From Sendai Station, take the Shinkansen to
Kurikomakogen Station. Then, walk to the West Exit (西口バスプール) and take the bus.
Get off at the Iwakagami-daira (いわかがみ平) stop.
From there, start hiking from the designated point.
The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.

The ride takes 70 minutes and costs 1,600 yen per person.
Open only on Saturdays and Sundays during autumn.
Weekday hours vary each year.
No reservations are required. The bus operates for approximately one month, from mid-September to mid-October.
The schedule is released after the annual fall foliage forecast.
