A Magical Stay at Taj Hari Mahal

What could be more delightful than an early check-in, cheerful staff, and scrumptious food? That's exactly how our journey at Taj Hari Mahal commenced. Arriving early, the staff graciously offered us an early check-in alongside tea and biscuits in our upgraded pool-view room—a lovely beginning to our stay. For lunch, we longed for authentic Rajasthani flavors, and thanks to Subodh at the restaurant, our meal became memorable. Although he isn't from Rajasthan, he guided us through the menu patiently and even recommended places in Jodhpur. We sampled Dal Baati, Bajre ki Roti, and Lehsuni Chutney—all flavorful, but the highlight was his suggestion of Churma, which was truly delectable. I particularly relished the gud (jaggery) with channa papad, a simple yet delightful pairing. Later, we ordered a pizza, but regrettably, mushrooms were included—and my friend is allergic. The staff immediately went above and beyond, with Subodh, the chef, and team crafting a new pizza for us. Their thoughtfulness was deeply appreciated. The pool area was a highlight of our stay, large and tranquil, with views of the grand verandah. While swimming, we enjoyed witnessing puppet shows, Rajasthani folk music, and dance performances nearby—it felt surreal to experience this while unwinding in the water. As the evening unfolded, the entire palace and poolside were beautifully illuminated, crafting a magical, almost mesmerizing ambience.
