All because of a world-famous painting—"Along the River During the Qingming Festival," I entered Kaifeng's Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden at dusk, and before me was a dazzling world of lights. Lanterns hung from treetops, adorned the water's edge, or gathered in groups to create stunning scenes. Large creative lantern displays were magnificent, with intricate craftsmanship in every detail; while the smaller lantern scenes were exquisite and charming, complementing the pavilions, towers, and small bridges over flowing water.
The lantern layout in the garden is cleverly designed, perfectly matching the Song Dynasty-style ancient architecture. The Rainbow Bridge looks even more rustic and elegant under the lights; along the Bian River, the lights reflect in the water, with painted boats gliding by, recreating the poetic scene of "Night Tour on the Bian River."
Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden is located in Kaifeng, the ancient capital of eight dynasties. It is a large-scale Song Dynasty historical and cultural theme park restored 1:1 based on the famous Chinese painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." Ticket prices: Adult tickets 120 RMB; Children/Student tickets 60 RMB; Senior tickets (ages 60-69) 60 RMB; Free admission for children under 1.2 meters and seniors over 70. Inside the park, there are occasional folk performances; you can check the show schedule in advance to plan your visit accordingly.
As the lights come on, stroll along the Bian River bank in Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, watch the lights reflected in the water, see the painted boats drifting leisurely, and stand on the Rainbow Bridge—"Suddenly turning around, that person is there where the lights are dim." For lantern viewing, come to Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden!
