During my trip to Kaohsiung, the most breathtaking experience turned out to be at an MRT station—Formosa Boulevard Station. Renowned as one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world, it features the "Dome of Light," a masterpiece by Italian artist Narcissus Quagliata. This is the world's largest glass public art installation, showcasing vibrant colors and an awe-inspiring design that feels like stepping into a universe of intertwined light and shadows.
Every time I walk into the circular hall, the Dome of Light above casts a sacred and dreamy glow. I can't help but stop and gaze upward, immersing myself in its timeless beauty. At specific times each day, there's even a light show where music and colors synchronize, adding to the mesmerizing experience.
Located at the intersection of Kaohsiung MRT's Red and Orange lines, the station is highly accessible and close to the bustling Liuhe Night Market. It's undoubtedly a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Kaohsiung.
