Half-Day Trip to Kaohsiung's British Consulate at Takao

Kaohsiung in May is scorching hot 🥵, so we decided to head to our destination around 4 PM. Yes, you guessed it! It's the British Consulate at Takao.
We pre-booked our tickets on Trip for just 90 TWD per person, and each ticket even came with a complimentary exclusive sticky note pad! Such a great deal 👍—affordable tickets with a little gift to boot.
Before reaching the entrance, you'll need to climb a flight of stairs, approximately 70–80 steps. You can exchange your tickets and collect your gift directly at the ticket booth.
Once inside the consulate, the view is absolutely stunning. You can see Kaohsiung's iconic 85 Sky Tower, the Kaohsiung Music Center, and the entire cityscape. The panoramic view is framed by the sea, large ships, and yachts—so cool! It truly lives up to its reputation as a harbor city. On the other side, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset 🌅 as ships sail out of Kaohsiung Harbor. It's incredibly beautiful and a perfect spot for couples or spouses to visit—so romantic.
The surrounding architecture exudes a sense of history, and inside the building, you'll find historical descriptions and walls adorned with old photographs. The interior offers a visually striking experience.
What's special is that the consulate has partnered with the Classical Rose Garden, and your ticket can be used for a 30 TWD discount there. Super handy!
We left around 6:30 PM, spending about two hours in total.
