Nestled within the Flower Field grounds in Karuizawa, GAFLO CAFE is an open-air café designed to let visitors fully experience the changing seasons. During renovations, the owners made a bold decision to remove the roof entirely, allowing sunlight, breeze, and birdsong to flow freely through the space.

For lunch, we ordered the ratatouille, a warm and gentle dish that perfectly matches the calm and natural surroundings. Its soft flavors and beautifully presented vegetables made it a soothing meal — ideal for a relaxed afternoon in Karuizawa.

It’s a place that invites you to slow down, enjoy the view of flowers swaying in the wind, and feel the quiet rhythm of nature.
