【Saitama】Kawagoe - A Western-style Building with Taisho Romanticism

Resona Coedo Terrace in Kawagoe, Saitama

This building, originally the main branch of the 85th Bank, was designed by architect Katsuya Yasuoka in 1918 (Taisho 7). It is a Western-style structure that incorporates Renaissance elements from the Taisho era.

You can visit the "former president's office," which has been preserved as a registered tangible cultural property.

The building's exterior, featuring stone and brickwork, arched window frames, and the height of its tower, showcases a beautiful blend of Taisho-era modernism and traditional design.

From the observation deck, you can enjoy a view of the Kurazukuri (warehouse-style) streetscape.

Highly recommended for those who love retro and Western-style architecture.
