Friendly Staff and Fabulous Pool Room

One of the hotels I keep coming back to. This time, I stayed in the Essential Pool Access room, a popular room type among guests. The room is approximately 58 sqm, not too small or too big, making it a standard-sized room. The difference lies in the view—sea view or garden view. As a Pool Access room, you can directly access the pool from the back of the room. Each building has its own private pool, so if you prefer not to swim in the crowded main pool, this is a great option.
Having stayed in various room types here, including Suite, Beach Front Pool Villa, and Essential Sea View, I’ve mostly been assigned to Building 6. I personally like this building as it’s the closest to the sea, second only to the Beach Front Pool Villa. It’s one of the most private buildings in the area. The advantage of this building is its tranquility compared to others in the same zone. On the morning of my stay, I was lucky to have the only Pool Access room on the first floor, which meant I had exclusive access to the pool shared by five rooms. The pool is as long as the main pool, making it spacious and fun to swim in—better than the Pool Villa pool I’ve stayed in before.
Inside the room, the hotel provides complete bathroom amenities without needing to request extras. The main products are from Harnn, which I find pleasantly fragrant.
Upon entering the room, you’ll find a complimentary snack set prepared for every guest. This time, I received the usual 9-piece snack set along with a DIY cocktail kit. The snacks are delicious.
As Kimpton fans know, there’s a secret code to mention during check-in to receive a cute gift. Previous codes have rewarded scented candles, while this time, I got a macaron set.
From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the hotel hosts Social Hour, where guests can enjoy free drinks for an hour. Options include red wine, white wine, cocktails, and fruit juices, accompanied by 2-3 types of canapés.
Highlights of my stay:
The hotel called a day in advance to ask about my arrival time to prepare the room. I arrived around 10:00 AM and was able to check in immediately without waiting.
The staff at the restaurant and pool area are very friendly. Even though the staff changes frequently, their service remains excellent.
One night, I ordered food from outside and went to the lobby to pick it up. A staff member offered to wait for the food and deliver it to my room, but I declined out of politeness. I regret not asking for his name as he was very courteous and attentive.
The evening turndown service wasn’t as meticulous as before; for instance, the hairdryer cord was left as it was. However, I appreciated the evening snack of galamai, which was delicious.
Breakfast can be ordered via QR code or directly from the staff. There’s a variety of options, including à la carte dishes and a well-stocked station. The quality remains excellent and enjoyable.
If you ask me whether Kimpton Kitalay Samui is still worth staying at, my answer is yes. The hotel’s atmosphere and the tranquility of the building I stayed in are truly relaxing. Considering the price, it’s still a great choice.
