Kiyomizu-dera Temple

“Climb the mountain to find a great angle! 🌸 Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a must-see for yourself.”

⛩️ Kiyomizu-dera, or Kiyomizu Temple, is an ancient temple on Higashiyama Hill in Kyoto. It is a World Heritage Site that stands out for its large wooden pavilion jutting out from the cliff.

📸 Highlight angle: A wooden terrace with a panoramic view of Kyoto, especially during the autumn foliage season (November) or cherry blossom season. (Late March–Early April)

💧 The highlight is the “Three Holy Waters”, which you can choose to drink to pray for health, love, or study (you can only choose one!)

🚶♀️ The entrance passes through the Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka shopping streets, full of sweet shops, souvenir shops, and kimono rentals.

🕰️ Open daily from 06:00–18:00 (with special opening hours a few times a year at night).

🚇 From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 and get off at Gojo-zaka, then walk uphill for about 10 minutes.
