Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine, located at the eastern end of Nishiki Market, is considered the "Kitchen of Kyoto," home to a variety of restaurants, especially seafood.

This Shinto shrine enshrines Tenjin, or Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning and education.

It is a popular shrine.

People often come here to pray for academic success, exams, and business success.

There are also several smaller shrines within the complex.
