There is really a lot to do to Kyoto, Kyoto Station itself already has a lot to see, the Kyoto Station Building is a modern complex that combines a transportation hub, shopping center, restaurants, hotels and cultural facilities. Designed by architect Hiroshi Hara, its design was inspired by the concept of “checkerboard streets” in the ancient capital of Heian-kyo. Known for its grand glass roof, wide halls and aerial walkways, and a variety of facilities such as JR Kyoto Isetan department store and Kyoto Ramen Road, the building is an important landmark and sightseeing attraction in Kyoto.
