Luang Prabang is actually very small and can be explored in an hour or two, but it's the perfect place to relax, unwind, and take photos. There are many photo spots. We stayed at the Buurasari Heritage Luang Prabang, and we took so many photos just at the hotel.
The hotel is located on the street below the alms giving ceremony. You can watch the alms giving ceremony as soon as you leave the hotel in the morning and interact with the monks. The hotel is in a French-style building, and you can take many great photos in the lobby, spa, restaurant, and riverside bar area. Of course, the food and spa here are also very famous.
The street where the alms giving ceremony takes place is the main street. As a former French colony, the French style here is still very strong. Many buildings have flowers in front of them, and the designs are quite ingenious. Everywhere is photogenic. The most famous attraction on the street is Wat Xieng Thong, where sticking your head out of the window is the most popular photo spot.
As for how to take photos in each place, it depends on your own preferences. When buying tickets at Wat Xieng Thong, try to use Lao currency, as USD is not suitable.
