[Seiganji Temple where crape myrtle blooms]

📍Seiganji Temple, Shiga Prefecture

On a hot summer day, I visited Seiganji Temple in Maibara City, Shiga.

Maibara City is still a transportation hub on the Nakasendo and Hokuriku Expressways.

The temple is located at the foot of the mountain east of JR Maibara Station.

When you pass through the temple gate, you will see a large crape myrtle tree, and it was a beautiful sight that seemed to color the midsummer.

You can see beautifully blooming crape myrtle from anywhere in the temple!

The trunk of the crape myrtle is so smooth that even monkeys can slide on it, which is why it was given this name.
