[Longjiang Town] Winter Travel Guide to Mohe, the Northernmost City in China

🧳Preparation:
1️⃣Clothing: A down coat and down pants, a corduroy hoodie, and thermal underwear are enough.
2️⃣Other cold-proof equipment: Fleece sneakers (preferably snow boots) + touchscreen gloves + hat (preferably with ear flaps), neck gaiter (scarves are not windproof and take up space) + windproof mask. Try not to expose your skin to avoid frostbite.
3️⃣Other useful tools: Hand warmers (to prevent your phone from losing power quickly), 20,000 mAh power bank (no charging on the train), thermos (to prevent drinking water from freezing), and moisturizing skincare products.

🚗Transportation Guide:
1️⃣Although there are flights to Mohe, trains are more cost-effective. There are 2–3 trains from Harbin to Mohe in the low season and 5–6 trains in the peak season.
2️⃣Beiji Village is 1 hour's drive from the city center and can be reached by bus. Longjiang First Bay Scenic Area is about 2 hours' drive from the city center and can only be reached by self-driving or chartered car.
3️⃣Car rental is very convenient. The roads are cleared of snow every day, so you can drive with confidence.

🛏Hotel Information: There are many hotels in Mohe County and Beiji Village. You can choose according to your budget.

🌟Must-see attractions:
1️⃣Mohe County: Beiji Square (overlooking the main road of Mohe and taking photos from a Manhattan perspective), Mohe Ballroom (entrance fee: CNY 20), and Songyuan Primitive Forest Park (a small forest that you can skip). The county is small, and you can walk to these places.
2️⃣Beiji Village: You need to pay to enter. There are various landmarks to check in. The prices are high, so try to save money. There is also a moose base, which is worth visiting. However, you need to pay an additional CNY 30 for the ticket and CNY 15 for moss feed.
3️⃣Longjiang First Bay Scenic Area: It includes the northernmost point of China, the Ussuri River Shoal, and the Longjiang First Bay Scenic Area Viewing Platform. There are shuttle buses to take you around. You only have 20 minutes to take photos at the former, and you need to climb a mountain to see the latter.

🍽Food Guide: I tried a restaurant serving iron pot stew in Beiji Village. It was delicious and cost CNY 60–70 per person. Blueberry juice and birch sap are local specialties and taste good.

🛍Shopping Guide: Mohe is located in the Greater Khingan Range and has many specialties, such as blueberry/cranberry-related foods, which are affordable gifts. You can buy postcards at the northernmost post office cafe.
