Back from Nanchang, here are my honest feelings

🌆 Nanchang, a city soaked in red heritage yet full of everyday life! The flying eaves of Tengwang Pavilion reflect the ripples of the Gan River, the monument at Bayi Square tells heroic stories, and the aroma of clay pot soup and mixed noodles fills the streets. It has both historical depth and modern vitality, perfect for sightseeing, eating, and entertainment all in one~

Must-visit Attractions

1️⃣ Tengwang Pavilion

The origin of the phrase "The setting sun and lone wild goose fly together"! Recite the "Preface to Tengwang Pavilion" to get free admission, climb to the top to see the Gan River flowing through the city, the night view and lighting are stunning, and wearing Hanfu for photos is absolutely perfect🏯

2️⃣ Bayi Square

Nanchang’s landmark! The Bayi Memorial Tower is 45.5 meters tall, engraved with "Bayi Nanchang Uprising Memorial." There is a fountain show at night, and Wanda Plaza nearby makes shopping and dining super convenient🎆

3️⃣ Nanchang Star Ferris Wheel

The world’s third tallest Ferris wheel, 160 meters high overlooking the Gan River and cityscape. The cabins have air conditioning, and at night you can see the light shows on both riverbanks, making it very romantic🎡

4️⃣ Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural Street

An ancient-style street with blue bricks, gray tiles, and red lanterns. There is a light show at night, and snack stalls sell "white sugar cake" and "thick soup." Wearing a qipao for photos here creates a great atmosphere🏮

5️⃣ Qiushui Square

Asia’s largest musical fountain group! Shows at 7 PM and 8 PM, water jets dance to music, reaching up to 128 meters high. Behind it is the Nanchang Star, making photos incredibly impressive💦

6️⃣ Meiling National Forest Park

Nanchang’s "back garden"! Climb Lion Peak to see waterfalls, the water in Shenlong Pond is crystal clear. It’s very cool for summer escapes and great for camping and barbecues, perfect for family trips🌳

7️⃣ Jiangxi Provincial Museum

Free reservation! See gold ingots and jade artifacts unearthed from the Haihunhou Tomb, dinosaur fossils, and red relics. The air conditioning is strong, a must-visit with kids🦖

8️⃣ Shengjin Pagoda

A thousand-year-old ancient pagoda! The tower is hung with wind chimes that tinkle in the breeze. Nearby is a food street where you can easily enjoy "boiled" and "fried" snacks. The lighting at night is very atmospheric🏮

Food Recommendations

🍜 Nanchang Mixed Noodles

Chewy rice noodles mixed with chili oil, dried radish, and peanuts. Stir well for a spicy and flavorful taste. Recommended spot: "Zhou Zhenzhen," 5 yuan per bowl, very filling!

🥣 Clay Pot Soup

"A pot of soup is a world!" Chicken egg meat patty soup and cuttlefish rib soup are slow-cooked in small clay pots for 6 hours. The soup is fresh and meat tender, paired with mixed noodles, it’s a typical Nanchang breakfast~

🌶️ Boiled Hot Pot

Nanchang’s version of spicy hot pot! Various ingredients (tofu puffs, lotus root slices, pig’s feet) are boiled in a big pot with chili and garlic water. It’s super spicy and satisfying. Recommended: "Yingzi Snacks"🔥

🍢 Fried Snacks

"Emperor’s roasted marinated" duck feet and chicken feet, first marinated then fried. The outside is crispy and the inside soft, brushed with chili sauce, so addictive!

🍡 White Sugar Cake

Glutinous rice flour shaped into rings, fried golden and coated with white sugar. Crispy outside, chewy inside, sweet but not greasy. Street stall near Wanshou Palace, 3 yuan each~

🥟 Chive Pockets

Dough filled with chives and eggs, pan-fried until golden on both sides. The aroma of chives mixed with oil is delicious. Breakfast stall, 2 yuan each, very affordable!

Transportation

✈️ Airplane: Changbei Airport, direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other cities. Airport shuttle bus to downtown (15 yuan/person) or taxi about 50 yuan.

🚄 High-speed Rail: Nanchang West Station/Nanchang Station, 1.5 hours to Changsha, 2 hours to Wuhan. Take Metro Line 2 from the station directly to downtown.

🚇 City Transport: Metro Lines 1/2/3/4 cover major attractions. Use Alipay to get the "Lulu Xing" ride code; for buses, use Alipay’s "Nanchang Electronic Bus Card."

🏨 Bayi Square/Zhongshan Road: Recommended "Nanchang Ruiyi Hotel," walking distance to Tengwang Pavilion and Wanshou Palace, many snacks nearby, prices 500-800 yuan/night.

🏡 Honggutan District: Stay at "Wanda Realm Hotel," close to Qiushui Square and Nanchang Star, beautiful night views, great for couples, 600-1000 yuan/night.

🏕️ Unique Homestay: Near Wanshou Palace, "Ancient Style Homestay" with wooden windows, blue tiles, and red lanterns, very photogenic, 300-500 yuan/night.

Tips✨

❶ Tengwang Pavilion ticket is 50 yuan, free if you recite the "Preface to Tengwang Pavilion" (text available on site). Practice in advance to save money~

❷ Qiushui Square fountain shows are at fixed times, don’t miss them! Weekends are very crowded, arrive early to secure a spot!

❸ Nanchang cuisine is quite spicy; ask for "mild" or "no spice" when ordering. For boiled hot pot and fried snacks, you can choose "less spicy."

❷ For souvenirs, go to "Lvziyao," where you can buy Huangshanghuang marinated duck, Junshan Lake hairy crabs, and Nanchang rice noodles, with shipping available~

❺ Avoid metro rush hours (7:30-9:00 AM, 5:30-7:00 PM). Line 1 is the most crowded, Line 2 is relatively empty!
