Come to Nanjing to experience the cultural charm of the Six Dynasties ancient capital! This time, I’m sharing an artistic route that allows you to deeply feel Jinling culture and is full of surprises~
🏠 Accommodation Recommendation:
I stayed at Yihe Mansion in Gulou District. This group of Republic of China-era buildings is perfect for photography! The rooms are renovated old Western-style houses, vintage and elegant, and within walking distance to many attractions—super convenient~
Day 1: From Classical to Modern
📍 Six Dynasties Museum | 118 Beiting Lane (09:00-16:30)
The geometrically striking building hides a stunning bamboo forest exhibition hall, with light and shadow creating amazing photo opportunities! It condenses the essence of cultural relics from the Six Dynasties period.
📍 Nanjing Library | 189 Zhongshan East Road
A blend of classical and modern architecture, it still preserves an ancient book reading room. Sitting under a century-old ginkgo tree reading feels like traveling through time~
Day 2: Republic of China Style Tour
📍 Xianfeng Bookstore | 173 Guangzhou Road (Open 24 hours)
A bookstore transformed from an underground parking garage with a unique vibe! Be sure to take photos at the cross-shaped check-in wall, and the postcard wall is also super interesting.
📍 Yihe Mansion | 3 Jiangsu Road (Open 24 hours)
A Republic of China-era architectural complex at the level of a modern art museum. Every villa has a story behind it, and every snapshot looks like a vintage masterpiece!
🍜 Must-Try Food:
✨ Xiao Pan Ji Duck Blood Vermicelli (Zhongshan East Road Branch)
A local favorite alleyway delicacy with a rich and flavorful broth and generous portions!
✨ Republic of China Red Mansion (Jiangsu Road Branch)
Enjoy authentic Huaiyang cuisine in a century-old residence. Recommended dishes are cherry foie gras and Jade Rabbit toast~
📸 Photo Tips:
1. At the Six Dynasties Museum, it’s recommended to wear solid colors to highlight the geometric beauty.
2. The lighting inside Xianfeng Bookstore is dim, so bring a small fill light.
3. The ginkgo trees on Yihe Road are even more beautiful in autumn when they turn yellow; mid to late November is the best time to visit.
The charm of Nanjing is truly hidden around the corners of these old buildings~ Every street and alley has endless stories to tell. Xianfeng Bookstore (Xuanwu Lake Branch) Six Dynasties Museum Nanjing Yihe Mansion Apartments
