Nanning Uncovered: A Journey into Guangxi's Vibrant Heart

As a seasoned "homebody" introvert, I used to think going out was a burden until a friend took me to Nanning Nanhu Park to "recharge"—tested personally, find a shady spot to sit for 20 minutes, watch the shimmering lake surface, listen to the rustling leaves in the wind, and anxiety will quietly slip away~
🌳 About Nanhu Park:
It’s hidden in downtown Nanning, like a carefully tended green gem. The loop around the lake is about 10 kilometers. If you don’t want to walk, rent a bike and leisurely ride around (single bike 10 yuan/hour, very affordable); if you want to zone out, just find a patch of grass or a lakeside stone step to sit on, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, warm and not glaring.
📍 Must-experience little spots:
1. Jiukong Bridge: Go at dusk! The sunset dyes the bridge arches golden red, the lake reflections sway along, every photo feels gentle (remember to wear light-colored clothes for better shots).
2. Famous Tree Exhibition Garden: On the west side of the park, planted with many tropical plants. The banyan tree’s aerial roots hang down like curtains, perfect for forest-style photos, and there are fewer people.
3. Lakeside Boardwalk: Walk along the lake, sometimes you can see little fish jump out of the water, and if you’re lucky, you might spot a hoopoe (their feathers are super beautiful!). When tired, lean on the railing and watch the elderly fishing; their slow pace will infect you with a sense of relaxation~
🍜 Where to eat after the stroll?
Near the park, there are many Nanning flavors. Walk 10 minutes to "Macun Night Market":
- Try the rolled rice noodles, the rice sheets are smooth, wrapped with green beans and minced meat, drizzled with yellow skin sauce, sour and sweet to whet your appetite;
- In summer, the must-order is locust flower noodles, the icy sweet soup paired with chewy noodles refreshes and cools you down.
📌 Tips:
- Best time: March to April, the spring light is bright, neither cold nor hot; avoid noon, after 3 pm the sunlight is softer.
- Gear: Bring a foldable stool (the lakeside stone steps might be a bit chilly), sunscreen (Nanning’s sun is very enthusiastic!), and a bottle of water (there are small shops in the park, but a bit pricey).
- Introvert-friendly: The park is huge, you can easily find a corner to "disappear" without worrying about being disturbed~
Actually, no need to make a special plan, coming here is about "wasting time." Find a place to sit, daydream, watch clouds drift over the lake, feel the wind brush your face—this kind of "doing nothing" happiness is the best gift Nanhu Park gives to introverts~ 🌸
